When the Affiant and the Filing Speak Different Languages

Best practice runs the oath through parallel texts, the affiant's version in their language, the filing version in English, with a translator's certificate binding the two, and courts increasingly expect exactly that architecture when the signer's English is limited. An English-only affidavit from someone who could not read it invites the obvious cross-examination question, and the answer never helps the side that filed it.
